 LeBron James Biography

          Early Years

     LeBron James was born on December 30, 1984 in Akron, Ohio. LeBron James grew up without a father. His lone parent is to this day is his mother Gloria. As a child LeBron and his mother were always moving from place to place. This was due to financial problems. It was not uncommon for a young woman like Gloria to leave LeBron in a foster home for other families to care for. But she cared for him as his mother. Then Gloria and LeBron met the Walker family. That day changed LeBron's life, Frank Walker was a father-like figure to LeBron. In the fall of 1994 LeBron James was introduced to the game of basketball. James was a natural athlete, he then met Dru Joyce II who helped train LeBron and coached him to a U-14 AAU National Championship.

High School

                Then came high school. James led the St Vincent-St. Mary's Irish to 3 state championships in his freshman,junior and senior years. LeBron James was the first high school player to cover Sports Illustrated since Kevin Garnett. After his senior year James declared eligible for the NBA draft and was picked 1st overall by the Cleveland Cavaliers. In May of 2003 LeBron signed a $90 million dollar, seven year deal with Nike. He also added $10 million more with an endorsement with Upper Deck.

The NBA

                Versing the Sacramento Kings in his first ever NBA game, James had 25 points, 9 assists, 6 rebounds, and 4 steals. For his first full season LeBron averaged 20.9 points, 5.9 assists, and 5.5 rebounds per game. LBJ joined Michael Jordan and Oscar Robertson as the only players in NBA history to average at least 20 points, 5 assists, and 5 rebounds per game in their first year. From then on LeBron has made 3 All-Star appearances. In the 06-07 season LeBron's Cavaliers made it to the Eastern Conference Finals. The Cavs went down 0-2 to start then went on to win 4 straight. Including LBJ's 48 point performance against Detroit where he score 29 of the last 30 points for Cleveland. The Cavs went on to get swept by the San Antonio Spurs and hope to do even better this season.
